GROWNUPS AND OTHER CAST MEMBERS

"Beat" Takeshi Kitano (Age 56) as Kitano
Kitano will apparently be returning in a flashback sequence shot for the sequel, showing him interacting with his daughter.

Aki Maeda (Age 17)
Confirmed in: Television interviews
Aki Maeda only has a cameo role this time around as Noriko Nakagawa, the other survivor from the first BR movie.

Gou Ryugawa as Lieutenant Anjo

Everyone's favorite cookie-grabbing, order-barking Second Lieutenant is back for seconds.

Takashi Taniguchi

Taniguchi played Nanahara's father in the first movie. He's playing a different role this time around, as the coldhearted leader of the Anti-Terrorist Attack Team (the ATATs)

Riki Takeuchi (39) as Riki Takeuchi

Takeuchi is best known for his roles in yakuza and action flicks, particularly Takashi Miike's Dead or Alive series. He's the new teacher this time around, a former rugby coach whose daughter was killed in a terrorist attack

Sonny Chiba (64) as Makio Mimura

The legendary name behind countless Japanese movies appears in BRII in a flashback as Shinji Mimura's revolutionary uncle, who was alluded to in the original movie. Rumors suggest he personally trains the members of Wild Seven, but no confirmation of that yet.

Yoshiko Mita (61) as Aoi's mother

The renown actress plays the mother of Boy #1 Aoi in a flashback scene.

Masahiko Tsugawa (63) as Prime Minister

Another prolific veteran actor, Americans may know him from his appearance in the international hit Tampopo and the recent Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidora movie. Tsugawa will be playing the prime minister of BR2's dystopic Japan.

 

Michiko Yamamura as TV reporter
Another familiar face returning is Michiko Yamamura, who was seen in the first few moments of the first movie.
